Form settings: emails, thank-you message, colour

Each form has its own settings page. This is where you choose who is emailed each response, what applicants see after they submit, and the form's colour.

Open Form settings

Open the form and click the Form settings tab, or click Settings at the top of the builder. You can also choose Form settings on the form's ⋯ menu on the dashboard.

Change what you need, then click Save settings at the bottom.

Email

  • Receiving email addresses: everyone who should get each response. Put one per line, or separate them with commas. Each email has the response PDF and the uploaded files attached.
  • Email subject: leave it blank to use "New submission:" and the form name.

You can also change the addresses under Details in the builder, at Send submissions to.

Company and look

  • Company: shown only. A form stays with its company. To use it for another company, see Duplicate a form.
  • Colour: the colour of the form's header bar and buttons. Tick Use the company's colour to follow the company.

Response PDF

Timestamp prints the date and time of submission in small text at the top of each response's PDF. Choose Off, On, top left or On, top right.

After submitting

Thank-you message: what applicants see once they've sent the form. If you leave it blank, they see "Thank you. Your form has been submitted."

Other settings on this page

  • Payment: shows whether the form takes a card payment. See Take card payments in a form.
  • Send to another app: sends each response to an app such as Make, Zapier or Power Automate as it arrives.
  • Staff folders: keeps each staff member's responses together. See Staff folders.

Good to know

  • New forms start with the addresses and thank-you message from Settings for all forms.
  • If the uploaded files are very large in total, they stay out of the email, but they are always kept in Formhub. See Where responses go.

Still stuck? Inside Formhub, press Ask Yasmene at the bottom right, or send us a message.
