Create a Form
Every form belongs to one of your companies, which gives it its logo and colours. You can start from blank, from a ready-made form, or by copying a form you already use.
Steps
- On your dashboard, click + New form (or New form in the menu on the left).
- Type the Form name. Applicants see this name at the top of the form.
- Choose the Company the form is for.
- Under How do you want to start?, pick one:
- Blank: build it question by question.
- From the form library: opens the library of ready-made forms. See Start from the form library.
- Copy from Snapforms: paste the link of a Snapforms form.
- From a PDF, Word file or photo: Formhub reads your existing form and builds it for you to check.
- From a saved design: load a saved design file (.json) downloaded from Formhub.
- Click Create and open builder.
- Drag questions from the list on the left onto your form. See Add and edit questions.
- Click Save at the top right.
For the copy options, see Bring your existing forms.
Good to know
- If you have no company yet, the window asks you to add one first. See Add a company.
- A new form takes its receiving email addresses and thank-you message from Settings for all forms. You can change them for each form in Form settings.
- A new form is turned on straight away. Until you save some questions, its link shows "This form is being prepared. Please check back soon."
- Click Save often. The builder shows Unsaved changes until you do, and warns you if you try to leave. You can also press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac).
- You can't move a form to another company later. To use it for another company, duplicate it.
- How many forms you can have depends on your package. If you reach the limit, Formhub tells you. See Packages and billing.
Questions
Can I rename a form later? Yes. Change the name at the top of the builder and click Save, or choose Rename on the form's ⋯ menu on the dashboard. The form's link stays the same.
