Bring your existing forms
Already have a form on paper, in Word or in Snapforms? Formhub can copy it for you, so you only check it over instead of building it again.
Steps
- Click + New form, type the Form name and choose the Company.
- Under How do you want to start?, pick how to copy it (see below).
- Click Create and open builder. The copy step shows at the top of the builder.
- When the copy is done, check every question, then click Save.
Copy from Snapforms
Paste the form's public link (the one applicants open), then click Copy. Formhub copies the questions, the form's colour and, where it can, its show-or-hide rules.
If the link doesn't work, open the form in Chrome, press Ctrl+S to save the page, then click Or choose a saved page and choose the .html file together with the pictures in its "_files" folder.
A Snapforms form with a password, or one that's closed, can't be copied until it's open to the public.
From a PDF, Word file or photo
Click Choose the file and pick a PDF, a Word file (.docx), a clear photo or scan, or a web page saved from another form tool. Formhub uses AI to read it and build the form. Long forms take a little while, and you can leave the page open while it works. The size limit is shown next to the button.
- Old .doc Word files can't be read. In Word, choose File, Save As, Word Document (.docx).
- Pictures and logos aren't copied. Add your logo to the company instead.
- How many files you can copy each month depends on your package.
From a saved design
Click Choose the file (.json) and pick a saved design file (.json). You get one when you download everything for a company on its Edit company page.
Please check
After a copy, a Please check: list may show things Formhub wasn't sure about, such as a field it copied as a plain question or a show-or-hide rule it added. Go through each one before you save.
Good to know
- The copy step only shows on a new, empty form, so it never replaces your work. Click Start blank instead to skip it.
- Nothing is saved until you click Save.
- Then add your touches: see Add and edit questions and Show or hide questions.
