Put questions side by side
Short questions don't need the full width of the form. Give them a smaller width and they sit side by side, like First name and Surname on one line.
Steps
- In the builder, open the question's settings (click it, then Edit).
- Under Width, choose Full, 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4.
- Click Save in the window.
- Do the same for the question next to it. Questions share a line while their widths fit, for example two at 1/2, or 1/2 plus two at 1/4.
- Click Save at the top right of the builder.
Drag a question beside another
You can also drag a question by its Move button and drop it on the left or right half of another question. A blue mark shows where it will go and the width it will get, such as "1/2 width". If it is too wide, it is made narrower to fit. If the line is full, the mark says "next field moves down".
Drop it between lines, or near the top or bottom of a line, to give it a line of its own.
Position
A question narrower than Full that has a line to itself can sit on the Left, in the Centre or on the Right. Choose under Position in its settings.
The Submit button
Open the Submit button's settings to change its Button text, its Position (Left, Centre, Right or Full width), its Colour (Form colour or Choose a colour) and its Size (Small, Normal or Large).
Good to know
- In the settings window, widths that don't fit beside the other questions on the line are greyed out. Drag the question onto its own line to make it wider.
- On phones, every question shows on its own line, full width, so nothing gets squashed. Check with Phone view.
- Questions inside a Repeat group don't share lines.
- Pictures and dividers have Width and Position too.
