Turn a form on or off
Turn a form off when you don't want any more responses for now, for example when a job ad has closed. Its link keeps working but shows a closed message, and you can turn it back on at any time.
Turn a form off
- On your dashboard, click the ⋯ button on the form's row. (It's also at the top of the form's settings, publishing and responses pages.)
- Click Disable.
Formhub confirms that the form is disabled and that its link now shows a closed message. Anyone who opens the link, or the form on your website, sees "This form is not accepting responses at the moment."
Turn it back on
Click ⋯ on the form's row again, then click Enable. The same link starts taking responses again straight away.
How to tell if a form is on
- On the dashboard, each form shows Live or Turned off. Click Turned off above a company's list to see only those forms.
- The dashboard's Live forms box counts the forms taking responses.
- On a form's own pages, a Disabled label shows at the top while it's off.
Good to know
- Turning a form off doesn't delete anything. All its responses stay, and you can still read and download them.
- You can still edit a form while it's off. Turning it off is a good way to make big changes before anyone sees them.
- The link and the website code stay the same, so you don't need to share it again.
- A form that's turned off still counts towards the number of forms your package allows.
- A new form is on from the start. Until you save some questions, its link shows "This form is being prepared. Please check back soon."
- If your account becomes read-only because of billing (for example, a payment stays unpaid after the grace period), all your forms stop taking responses until you choose a package. See Packages and billing.
- To remove a form for good, choose Delete on the ⋯ menu. Its link stops working.
