Duplicate a form or copy it to another company
Duplicating saves you building a similar form again. Make a copy for the same company, for example a new version of an onboarding form, or copy a form to another of your companies.
Steps
- On your dashboard, click the ⋯ button on the form's row. (It's also at the top of the form's settings, publishing and responses pages.)
- Click Duplicate / copy to company.
- Check the New form name. It starts as the form's name with "(copy)" at the end.
- Under For company, keep the same company or pick another one.
- Click Duplicate.
You're taken back to the dashboard, where Formhub confirms the copy and the company it's in. Click its name to open it in the builder.
What is copied
- All the questions, pages and layout.
- The form's settings, such as the receiving email addresses, email subject and thank-you message.
What isn't copied
- Responses. The copy starts empty.
- The link. The copy gets its own new link, so share or embed the new one. See Share a form by link.
- The Send to another app address. Set it again in Form settings if you need it.
Moving a form to another company
A form's company can't be changed after it's created, because its responses and staff folders belong to that company. To move a form:
- Duplicate it and pick the new company under For company.
- Check the copy, then share its new link.
- Turn the old form off, or delete it once you no longer need its responses.
Good to know
- A copy in another company takes that company's logo and letterhead. If the original form had its own colour in Form settings, the copy keeps it. Otherwise it uses the new company's colour.
- The copy is turned on straight away, even if the original was turned off.
- Check the receiving email addresses on the copy, especially when it's for another company.
- Each copy counts towards the number of forms your package allows.
