Your data, privacy and security

Your forms, and the answers people send through them, belong to you. Formhub keeps them in Australia and looks after them only to run Formhub for you.

Where your data is kept

Formhub's servers are in Sydney, Australia.
Uploaded files and nightly backups are stored with Amazon Web Services in its Sydney region.

How it's protected

Every page and form is sent over an encrypted connection.
The answers in responses are stored encrypted.
Files people upload, such as passports or licences, are encrypted and kept in private storage. Only logged-in users of your account can open them.
Card numbers are handled by Stripe. Formhub never sees them.
Two-factor login is available for every login, and Formhub can make it required for your whole account. See Password and two-factor login.
Everything is backed up every night, and the backups are encrypted.

Who can see your responses

Everyone with a login in your account. See Logins for your team.
The people you send them to: each response is emailed to your receiving addresses with its PDF. See Where responses go.
Formhub's staff look at answers only when you ask for help, or when they must check a form reported for misuse.

Formhub never sells your data, uses it for advertising, or uses it to train AI. When you ask Yasmene, your question and the form you're working on are sent to an AI service to answer it. Responses are never sent.

How long it's kept

Responses are kept until you delete them.
To delete one, open it and click Delete this response. Its answers and uploaded files are deleted for good.
Deleting a form takes it off your dashboard and stops its link, but doesn't delete its responses. Delete the responses first if you want them gone.
Deleting a company deletes all its forms, responses and files. See Add a company.
Deleted information can stay in the nightly backups for up to 30 days.
After your account closes, Formhub keeps its data for 90 days so you can come back or download it, and then may delete it. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner.

Good to know

You can download your responses as PDFs or a CSV file at any time.
Every form has a Report this form link at the bottom, so anyone can report a form that looks like a scam.
You are responsible for what your forms ask for, and for telling people how you'll use their answers.
