Work rights results
Every work rights check is saved on the response it belongs to. You can also check anyone's visa yourself, straight from their response.
Where to find results
Open the response. The Work rights (Home Affairs) box shows each check, newest first, with when it was done and who did it ("by the applicant on the form", or the staff member's name).
The result is one of:
- Unlimited work rights
- Limited work rights
- No work rights
- Checked: Home Affairs found the person, without a work rights answer.
- No match: one of the applicant's tries on the form that Home Affairs couldn't match.
- Not confirmed: the applicant's details didn't match after 3 tries.
- Not checked: the applicant didn't finish the check, or Home Affairs couldn't be reached.
- Check failed: the check couldn't be done. The reason is shown.
When Home Affairs finds the person, you also see the visa, visa type, status, grant and expiry dates, grant number, whether they're in Australia, and any work conditions.
The response PDF, including the one emailed to you, shows the latest check.
Check from a response
- Open the response and click Check work rights.
- Check the given names, surname, date of birth, passport number and passport country match the passport. Formhub fills them in from the answers.
- Tick This person agreed to have their visa checked.
- Click Check with Home Affairs.
The answer appears at the top of the page and is added to the response.
Good to know
- The Check work rights button shows on responses once your Home Affairs key is set up. See Set up work rights checks.
- Applicants who check themselves on the form only see whether their details matched. The visa details are only shown to you.
- If an applicant changed their details after a match, the match no longer counts and the response is marked Not checked. Check them with the button.
- The details sent and the answers are kept encrypted.
- Removing your Home Affairs key doesn't remove checks already done.
- Deleting a response also deletes its work rights checks. See Your data, privacy and security.
